USA: 'We won't be Trumped' - Al Sharpton at DC rally
Thousands gathered in a rally organised by civil rights activist Rev. Al Sharpton at Washington DC's Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial on Saturday, one week before President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration.
Sharpton urged demonstrators to hold Democrats and “moderate Republicans” accountable for “not doing the job” and asked them to “get some backbone."
Sharpton vowed to continue marching for the rights of Black Americans, which he sees to be threatened by the upcoming Trump administration.
The rally is the first of several to take place over the week leading up to the inauguration ceremony on January 20.
