      China: Shoigu and Xu Qiliang discuss Russian-Chinese security cooperation

      Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu met with Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission of China, Xu Qiliang, in Beijing on Wednesday “to discuss a number of topical issues in the sphere of security in the world and in the region."

      Shoigu said their talks would concentrate on “what is happening in North Africa and the Middle East."

      The officials also spoke about Russian-Chinese military cooperation, focusing among other topics on the production of military equipment.

      Later in the day Shoigu and Xu Qiliang are scheduled to hold a session of the bilateral intergovernmental Commission of Russia and China on military-technical cooperation.
