
Serbia: Russian, Belarusian and Serbian special forces take part in Slavic Brotherhood 2016 drills
Russian, Belarusian and Serbian special forces and paratroopers executed joint military exercises at the Orishas range in Serbia on Saturday, as part of the Slavic Brotherhood 2016 drills. Soldiers mastered weaponry skills and learned to work together in combat.
According to Russia’s Defence Ministry, both Russian and Belarusian personnel trained in the use of the Serbian Special Forces' weaponry. This includes the G36 assault rifle, MP5 submachine gun and the Glock 17. Serbian soldiers practised with the Russian AK-74M, the silenced AS Val assault rifle and the VSS Vintorez sniper rifle.
Representatives of nearly 30 countries observed the international troops jointly perform airdrops, drone missions and anti-terrorist manoeuvres. The Slavic Brotherhood 2016 military drills started on November 2 and concluded on Sunday. Next year’s Slavic Brotherhood drills will be staged in Belarus.
