Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump told his supporters that "we will never be stopped" and that "nobody messes with our people" after returned to stage at a campaign rally in Reno, Nevada on Saturday, after he was rushed off stage by secret service agents due to a security threat that may have involved a firearm, according to sources close to the Trump campaign.

It is still unconfirmed what exactly took place and why the Republican presidential nominee was rushed off stage in the middle of his speech by security agents, however, a suspect was rushed by Trump supporters in the audience before being detained and searched by police. Trump thanked secret service agents after returning to the stage.

"I'm honoured to have the endorsement of more than 200 top Admirals and Generals and 22 medal of honour recipients," stated Trump, before adding "those medal of honour recipients, when they saw that scene over there, they would have brushed off the secret service and they would have jumped in."

Trump continued, slamming Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, stating "She brought death and disaster to Iraq and Syria and Libya and she empowered Iran and she unleashed ISIS across the world," adding "now she's saying she's going to get rid of it. She has no chance of getting rid of ISIS."

Trump went on to slam Clinton and "her failed establishment" for spending "six trillion dollars in wars in the Middle East and now the Middle East is in worse shape than its ever been by a factor of ten. They've dragged us into foreign wars that make us less safe. They shipped our jobs and wealth to other countries and they've left our borders wide open at home."

The 2016 US presidential elections are scheduled to take place on November 8.
