Brazil: Estonian triplets make history competing in Olympic marathon
Estonian long distance runners and identical triplets Lily, Liina and Leila Luik held a press conference at the Barra da Tijuca Olympic facilities in Rio de Janeiro, Friday, two days ahead of the marathon the triplets are due to compete in.
Three 30-year old athletes from Tartu began training six years ago and now represent Estonia at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. According to the three siblings, they aim to take all three medals in the coming 26.2 mi (42,1 km) Olympic marathon.
When asked about who they thought would finish first from the three of them, the sister agreed on Lily, saying that "she has the best preparation right now," before Leila added "but nobody knows, when me and Liina come [from] behind."
The Estonian athletes assured that they will be more powerful in four years, referring to the future games in Tokyo, and expressed their dream to participate in a movie in the future.
