USA: NYC goes BLINI mad as Russian pancake Czar Teremok sets up shop
Russian fast-food chain giant 'Teremok' broke into the American market, Wednesday, by opening its first ever store in New York.
Teremok is considered to be Russia’s largest blini producer, traditional fried pancakes that can be filled with meat, potatoes, and caviar, among other fillings.
Commenting on the opening, the CEO of Teremok Mikhail Goncharov said that the restaurant had so far been popular with Russian customers and many locals, adding that he was impressed by the enthusiasm shown by New Yorkers. “We were also surprised how many Borsch and Ukha”, he stated, adding that the restaurant’s sales had been “fantastic”.
Teremok plans to expand its business to the UK, Germany, India and China in the future.
