Jubilant fans took to the streets after the game to chant and sing the Argentine national anthem, as despondent Chilean fans took the early train home.
Players Angel Di Maria and Ever Banega scored for Argentina while Jose Pedro Fuenzalida managed to get a goal back for Chile. Argentina's star player Lionel Messi was absent from the match following an ongoing injury to his lower back.
