Pope Francis welcomed the delegations of Italy's two most successful football clubs, AC Milan and Juventus, at the Vatican on Friday, ahead of their bout in the 2016 Coppa Italia final in Rome on Saturday.

The two teams received the Pope's blessing, before presenting him with a replica of the cup's trophy, a ball and framed shirts of both teams. Both delegations then posed for a picture with Pope Francis.

AC Milan and Juventus FC are scheduled to meet in the final match of the 2016 Italian Cup at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on Saturday evening.
