
USA: Police cordon off National Mall to investigate allegedly contaminated vehicle
A man was arrested by the police after he drove a pickup truck onto the grass at National Mall in Washington DC, Tuesday. The man claimed that he had been exposed to anthrax.
Police, firefighters and ambulances arrived at the site and cordoned several streets in the surrounding area.
Shortly afterwards, some officers wearing gas masks carried out a search on the vehicle with the help of a robot. According to the police, no hazardous material was found during the search.
