Head of EMERCOM National Crisis Management Centre (NCMC), Victor Yatsutsenko, confirmed that 62 people including 55 passengers and seven crew members were on board the crashed FlyDubai flight FZ981, during a press statement in Moscow, Saturday.

"Eleven of the 55 passengers were citizens of foreign states and their names have already been identified. Six of seven crew members were also citizens of foreign states," he stated. Yatsutsenko went on to say that "the work of Foreign Ministry representatives has been organised in Rostov-on-Don, contact and cooperation was established [with relevant domestic and foreign agencies]. The [diplomatic] notes were sent to those embassies whose citizens died. The work of the EMERCOM operation group was organised in the airports of Krasnodar and Mineralnye Vody."

Moreover, the EMERCOM official commented on the schedule of flights at Rostov-on-Don airport. "23 flights were scheduled to arrive at Rostov-on-Don airport, ten were cancelled, three arrived at Krasnodar, and 13 are planned. The transportation of the passengers to Rostov-on-Don has been organised," Yatsutsenko explained.

The FlyDubai passenger Boeing 737-800 travelling from Dubai crashed near the runway on its second landing approach early on Saturday morning. Ambulances and police arrived at the airport with EMERCOM teams also deployed to sift through the wreckage and secure the scene of the crash.
