Syria: Footage shows destruction of Jobar
The first RT-filmed images of Jobar after the cessation of hostilities was declared emerged on Monday.
The amount of destruction indicates the type and level of battles that took place in the Damascus suburb over the past years. Most of the fighting took place in the trenches.
According to a commander in the Syrian Arab Army in Jobar, the truce is holding, and the army is committed to what it has promised.
Jobar was once a historical village on the outskirts of Damascus, and is now a suburb of the Syrian capital. It is located two kilometres (1.2 miles) northeast of the old city walls.
Earlier on Monday Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu to begin the withdrawal of Russian forces from Syria starting Tuesday. According to Putin, the Defence Ministry's have been "accomplished."
