Turkey: Ukrainian President Poroshenko visits Ankara for bilateral talks
The Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko was greeted by Turkish President Reccep Erdogan upon his arrival in Ankara on Wednesday.
Poroshenko is in the Turkish capital for a two-day official visit which will involve high-level bilateral talks relating to trade, security, and energy. He is also set to meet Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu during his working visit.
Poroshenko in an address to the Turkish Parliament also called on Turkey to recognise the deportation of the Crimean Tatars by the USSR in 1944 as an act of genocide. Last month the Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu officially visited Kiev.
