Syria: Humanitarian aid convoy reaches Turkmen village in Latakia
Trucks filled with humanitarian aid arrived in the village of Al-Issawiyah in Latakia province on Sunday, providing vital supplies to civilians heavily affected by the Syrian conflict.
Footage released on Monday shows Russian soldiers distributing packages containing flour, sugar, canned goods, rice, buckwheat, tea, coffee and biscuits among the residents of the village, most of whom are reported to be Turkmen.
The delivery of humanitarian assistance was jointly organised by Russia, the Syrian authorities and international organizations including the UN, Red Cross and Red Crescent. The distribution of aid is one of the top priorities of the International Syria Support Group (ISSG).
Humanitarian aid is being delivered to villages and cities across Syria following the ceasefire agreement reached between Russia, the United States and the ISSG on February 27.
