Hungary: Bavaria's Seehofer meets PM Orban ahead of Monday refugee summit
In a joint press conference with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in Budapest on Friday, Minister-President of Bavaria Horst Seehofer advocated for better controls of national European borders if securing the EU's external borders proves ineffective.
Orban echoed Seehofer's concerns regarding Europe's refugee crisis, further confirming his unwillingness to allow refugees into Hungary. "We consider the optimal amount of migration to be zero. Thus, we cannot support any deal which would transport migrants from Turkey to Hungary," said the Hungarian leader.
European Union leaders are expected to hold a special summit with Turkish officials at the headquarters of the Council of the European Union in Brussels on Monday.
