Russian President Vladimir Putin held a working meeting with Prime Minister of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania Vyacheslav Bitarov in the Moscow's Kremlin, Monday, to discuss Bitarov's potential appointment as head of the republic.
Putin expressed his condolences regarding the death of the late Head of the Republic Tamerlan Aguzarov, proposing Bitarov's candidacy for the position. "I will appoint you as an Acting Head of the Republic. Of course, you will need to prove to people that your work in this position meets their expectations and that you can resolve their problems including all social issues, develop the region and its economy and address healthcare and education issues," Putin said.
Bitarov reported that North Ossetia-Alania authorities have conducted the "optimisation of all our expenses that were inefficient and carried out a full stocktaking of the republic's assets."
