      Germany: International Syria Support Group meeting kicks off in Munich

      Representatives of key actors in the Syrian conflict convened for a meeting of the International Syria Support Group (ISSG) in Munich, Thursday, in an effort to bring the five year-long crisis to an end.

      Among the participants at the meeting were Russia's Sergei Lavrov, US Secretary of State John Kerry, the EU's foreign affairs chief Federica Mogherini, as well as delegates from the UN, the Arab League, Middle Eastern countries, China and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
