Syria: Volunteer troops train to fight Islamic State in Daraa
A pro-government Syrian militia group underwent training in the Syrian province of Daraa on Monday, where local civilians have volunteered to join the fight against so-called Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) militants.
Volunteers underwent combat training at a nearby shooting range called Mutbin, where they were taught special military techniques including how to carry and use guns and rifles.
Earlier in the day, the Syrian Army continued to advance across rural Latakia, recapturing several key militant positions on the outskirts of Kinsabba.
