Dozens of New York LaGuardia Airport workers were arrested during a protest outside one of the site’s terminals, Monday, as hundreds of employees rallied on Martin Luther King Day to call for an increase in minimum wage.

Those who participated in the rally, organised by the social group "Poverty Doesn't Fly" and other labour unions, blocked traffic outside the airport’s Terminal B, with participants chanting for a higher living wage. Many carried placards emblazoned with Martin Luther King’s image, bearing the message “Destination Justice”.

About 100 arrests took place nationwide in a number of similar actions.
