USA: 'Trump is disgusting' appears in sky over Pasadena's Rose Parade
Spectators at the Rose Parade in Pasadena, California, were given a surprise on Friday after skywriters wrote messages above the parade condemning Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
As thousands gathered to watch the annual parade, which took place ahead of the New Year's Day Rose Bowl between the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Stanford Cardinal, skywriters wrote the messages "America is great! Trump is disgusting" and "Anybody but Trump" in the cloudless sky above.
Protests against the Republican frontrunner increased towards the end of 2015 after he called for a "total and complete shutdown" of all Muslims entering the US in December. However the negative press has done little to dent his standing in the Republican primaries with the latest CNN/ORC poll giving Trump an 11 percent lead over his closest rival Ted Cruz going into 2016.
