Iraq: Bomb disposal units clear Ramadi from ISIS explosives and booby-traps
Iraqi army bomb disposal units started clearing the neighbourhoods of Ramadi from explosives and booby-traps that were planted by the so-called Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL), Tuesday, after the militants were ousted from the city.
According to one of the Military engineering officers involved in explosives clearing, their teams entered the city ahead of other forces to clear the streets and buildings from explosives, making it safe for the armed forces to follow.
Despite the declaration of victory, Defence Ministry officials said it will take more time to completely liberate the Ramadi province from IS forces.
