Spain: Never again will Spain be a 'periphery of Germany,' says Podemos' Iglesias
Podemos leader Pablo Iglesias gave a press-conference in Madrid, Monday after his party obtained 69 seats following Sunday's elections.
Iglesias said that thoughts about "negotiation" are now underway and that his party "are thinking about a historical compromise in our country in order to lead a new political transition." He also said that Spain will "never again" be seen as "a periphery of Germany."
The ruling party People's Party gained 29 percent of the vote. Although, it is the worst result in a general election for the conservative party. The second ruling party came with 22 percent of the vote and Podemos picked up an impressive 20 percent of the votes.
