
USA: Lavrov departs Syria peace talks for UN resolution discussion
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov departed New York's Palace Hotel, Friday, to head for the United Nations (UN) headquarters for the discussion on the resolution supporting the Syria peace process that will take place later in the day.
Foreign ministers from more than a dozen countries including the United States, Saudi Arabia, Iran and Turkey as well as several European and Middle Eastern powers joined Lavrov at Friday's talks at the hotel.
The International Syria Support Group will also attend the UN discussions where it is hoped that an agreement that has already been drafted, according to reports, will be adopted by all parties at the UN Security Council.
