USA: Armed protesters stage anti-Islam rally in Texas
A group of armed protesters demonstrated against refugees entering the U.S and 'the Islamisation of America', outside Richardson mosque in Dallas, Texas, Saturday.
The protest was organised by the Bureau of American-Islamic Relations (BAIR), an anti-Islam group. Members of the "Three Percenters" movement, who consider themselves patriots protecting the 'homeland' from Muslims, also attended the demonstration.
Around 50 pro-refugee activists staged a counterprotest. They chanted "No hate! No fear! Refugees are welcome here" and held banners reading "Freedom and justice for all!"
Dozens of police officers were deployed to keep both groups separated. There were no reports of clashes or injures.
