Syria: Russian airstrikes hits IS oil storage in Raqqa
The Russian Air Force hit the oil storage facilities and oil transfer centres of the so-called Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) in Raqqa as part of their operations from Wednesday into Thursday.
The city and surrounding area is a strong-point of the militant group and is therefore a key target for coalition airstrikes.
The action come as Russian President Vladimir Putin is meeting French President Francois Hollande in Moscow to discuss greater co-ordination of forces fighting against the militant group.
