
Iran: Putin meets Rouhani as GECF opens
Russian President Vladimir Putin was greeted by Iran's President Hassan Rouhani ahead of the opening ceremony of the third Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) in Tehran, Monday. Both president's are expected to focus on issues of bilateral relations, atomic energy, oil, gas and the fight against terrorism.
Other leaders present for the opening ceremony included the President of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari and the President of Bolivia Evo Morales.
The GECF is an international governmental organisation, which gathers the world's leading gas producing nations with the objective to strengthen and facilitate collaboration between the member countries. Nation's include Iran, Russia, Qatar, Algeria, Bolivia, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea and Libya.
