Germany: Clear-up begins after two killed in train crash in Bavaria
Emergency workers began to clear debris on Friday afternoon, after two people died when a passenger train collided with a lorry that was towing a US army truck at a train crossing near Freihung, Bavaria, Thursday night.
The lorry driver is thought to have been killed in the collision. Another body was found in a train carriage, though the identity of the deceased has not been released. At least 50 people were on the train at the time, four of whom have been hospitalised with injuries, which local police say are not critical.
The train was heading from Nuremberg to Weiden when it crashed into an articulated lorry at a railway crossing. The lorry was reportedly towing a US army truck which had got stuck on the tracks. The collision was followed by an explosion.
