Russia: Nationalists march through Moscow on Unity Day
Around 1,000 nationalist protesters marched through the streets of Lublino District in Moscow, Wednesday, in what they have labelled the 'Russian March' while the rest of the nation celebrates National Unity Day.
Protesters waved several different flags aligned with nationalism and neo-Nazism including Romanov flags, Tsarist Empire flags, black and red flags adorned with the Celtic cross as well as flags with the Kolovrat on them.
They were demonstrating against what they claim is a persecution of nationalists in Russia, as well as against the multiculturalism in Russian society.
Russian Unity Day has been celebrated annually since November 4, 2005 to commemorate Russia's defeat of Polish invaders and the liberation of Moscow by a popular force led by Kozma Minin and Dmitri Pozharsky in 1612.
