      Pakistan: US and Israeli flags burn at Karachi Ashura rally

      Hundreds of Shia Muslims participated in a huge rally in the centre of Karachi, burning the flags of Israel and the United States, Saturday.

      The event was held to mark the day of Ashura and mourn the martyrdom and death of the third Imam of Shia Muslims, Husayn ibn Ali.

      Hundreds of soldiers were deployed across the rally as there were rumours that militant groups may target the rally.
