
Spain: Forest firefighters march to Madrid from Valladolid to demand better working conditions
Dressed in their work attire and wielding fire-dampening spades, more than 200 forest firefighters took to the streets of Madrid, Tuesday, to demand better pay and working conditions.
The firefighters, belonging to Reinforcement Brigades Forest Fires (BRIF) marched through the streets of the Spanish capital after completing a 185 kilometre (115 mile) trek from Valladolid.
At the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture the firefighters unveiled banners and staged a demonstration, before being received by Spanish Agriculture Minister Isabel Garcia Tejerina.
