Thousands of fans, supporters and Catholic faithful awaited Pope Francis, as His Holiness drove through Upper East Side in Manhattan on Friday. Police erected barricades and secured the area as the Pope drove by, while supporters of His Holiness could be seen wearing t-shirts of the Pontiff as they handed out leaflets and flyers.

Pope Francis was heading to St. Patricks Cathedral when the footage was shot, where he was greeted by hundreds of priests and nuns. Followed by a motorcade, security was coordinated by Homeland Security and the NYPD in one of the largest security operations of the year.
