New Russian language television channel ETV+ began broadcasting in Russian, the organisation's editor-in-chief Darja Saar confirmed at a press conference dedicated to its launch in Tallinn, Thursday.

Featuring 11 programmes of which nine are completely new, ETV+ is a "multimedia platform" for people living in Estonia who use Russian as "their native language on a daily basis," Saar announced, adding that EVT+ can help Russian speakers in Estonia "become visible both for themselves and for society."

With a budget for 2015 of approximately €2.53 ($2.83 million), ETV+ will launch on September 28 in both Estonian and Russian.
