Russia: Putin hails Ingushetia's demographic situation
Russian President Vladimir Putin called the demographic situation in the Republic of Ingushetia "a good example for the rest of the country," during a meeting on the socio-economic development of the region, in Magas, on Monday. The Russian leader said that "big families are quite common here," praising the region due to the fact that "these type of families enjoy society's respect and attention."
However, Putin criticised the region for having the highest figure in the country regarding housing stock depreciation, stating that "22.8 percent of buildings consists of dilapidated housing or housing unfit for habitation."
Putin was heading to a meeting of the Collective Security Treaty Organization in Tajikistan, when the Russian leader unexpectedly arrived in the North Caucasus on Monday.
