Poland: Punishing patriotism? Nationalists protest against Polish FA
A group of far-right nationalists staged a protest outside the offices of the Polish Football Association in Warsaw, Saturday, for what they claim is a policy of punishing patriotism in Polish stadiums through advocating penalties for racist behaviour.
The protesters argue that stadiums and nationalist demonstrations are the last enclave of true freedom left in Poland. They further argue that Polish football promotes "anti-Polonism" and censorship for giving out penalties for racism.
The Polish FA have faced condemnation from both UEFA and FIFA in recent years for the conduct of their fans, particularly when they hosted the Euro 2012 Championship, along with Ukraine.
