Germany: Greece could not deal with requirements of globalised economy - Schauble
German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schauble slammed Greece in Berlin, Sunday, accusing the country's society of being incapable of dealing with the requirements of a globalised economy.
"The problem with Greece is that they have a society which had been protected by the European unification for a long time from grappling with the reality of the requirements of a globalised economy," Schauble stated, adding that "the advantages were appreciated, the drawbacks were not seen clearly."
Speaking at a panel discussion, Schauble also critisised Greece's attitude towards reforms by contrasting it with the situation in the Baltic states.
The minister's statements were heard by a large audience as Germany's government was holding an open day at its ministries and institutions on Sunday.
