Germany: Scuffle breaks out at pro-refugee demo in Berlin
A small scuffle broke out during a demonstration in support of refugees arriving in Berlin on Thursday.
Around 200 people gathered to show their support and condemn the recent right-wing attacks in connection to asylum seekers. The scuffle broke out when a man starting shoving others; some of the protesters started pushing him back whilst chanting “Nazis out." The man left shortly after while the activists chanted “Never, never, never again Germany." The protesters then marched to the Regional Office for Health and Social Affairs Berlin (LAGeSo), which is the first point of contact for refugees arriving in the city. The rest of the protest remained peaceful.
A wave of right-wing violence has swept over Germany in recent weeks, which has seen several arson attacks on buildings, planned to house refugees.
