Russia: Putin discusses Import Substitution Commission with ministers
Russian President Vladimir Putin held a ministerial-level meeting to discuss the new Import Substitution Commission, in Moscow on Wednesday.
Putin said that "the work of this commission is informal" and added that its work "should be filled with concrete and real content." Arkady Dvorkovich, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, stated that the commission should focus on "products not only for the domestic market but for world markets."
He added, “this commission is the main focus of the Government.”
Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev will be the head of the Commission and the two Deputy Prime Ministers Arkady Dvorkovich and Dmitry Rogozin will guide its day-to-day operations. The Commission's main duty is to coordinate federal and local executive authorities.
