German Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel interrupted his summer tour through Germany to visit the refugee shelter that was the site of anti-refugee violence over the last weekend in Heidenau near Dresden, Monday, to condemn those involved in attacks against refugees.

Gabriel spoke to citizens from the village before visiting the shelter and followed with a statement to the press alongside the mayor of Heidenau, Juergen Opitz, to condemn those involved in anti-refugee violence, saying that "You do not belong to us, we do not want you here."

Gabriel stated that these right-wing extremists "think they represent the genuine Germany, in reality they are the most un-German that I can imagine", adding that there is only one answer to them "Police, Prosecution and if possible everyone that we catch, imprisonment".
