
Russia: Putin calls for Kerch Strait Bridge to be completed by 2018
Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting to discuss the development of Southern Russian transportation infrastructure in Novorossiysk on Thursday.
According to the Russian leader, the deadlines of the Kerch Strait Bridge construction should be met and the bridge opened by the end of 2018.
Putin said that Crimean ports will work in an effective way "only when the bridge across the Kerch Strait will be built."
The Kerch Strait Bridge was projected to be completed in 2019 and will connect the Kerch Peninsula of Crimea and the Taman Peninsula of Krasnodar Krai.
