Russia: Blatter will be present at 2018 FIFA World Cup draw, confirms Mutko
Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko confirmed that FIFA President Sepp Blatter will be present at the draw for the 2018 FIFA World Cup as he spoke in Moscow, Thursday. Mutko also announced that "all the members of the FIFA Executive Committee, including Michel Platini" will be present at the draw. Blatter also asked the sports minister to arrange a meeting between him and Russian President Vladimir Putin and to prepare a programme for his visit to the country.
Mutko then moved on to discuss the FIFA scandal following reports that the first of the officials arrested in Zurich has been extradited to the US. The minister questioned the logic behind arresting the accused in Zurich when they are based in Miami. "Those who were arrested - they were headquartered in Miami, they were based there. So why did they not arrest them there?" he asked.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia Preliminary Draw will take place in St. Petersburg on July 25.
