Austria: 'Tough issues remain unresolved' - Kerry on Iran nuclear talks
Although “some of the tough issues remain unresolved” at the ongoing P5+1 Iran nuclear talks, decisions must be taken very soon “one way or the other”, US Secretary of State John Kerry stated during a press briefing outside the Palais Coburg, in Vienna, Thursday.
Kerry added that whilst negotiators “shouldn’t get up and leave” because of time constraints, the US were "not going to sit at the negotiating table forever."
Negotiators from Russia, China, France, the UK, the US, Germany and Iran re-convened in Vienna last week to try and reach a final agreement on a nuclear deal. Following a week of talks, the initial deadline of June 30 was shelved and all parties agreed a new one of July 7. As the negotiators acknowledged that they would still not be able to find a deadline on Tuesday, they agreed to extend it through until Friday, July 10.
