Germany: Tommy Schmidt moves into TINY house to protest Munich rental prices
Performance artist and copywriter Tommy Schmidt moved into a four square metre (43 square foot) garden house as a sign of protest against the rent prices in Munich, Monday. His new accommodation, which stands in the courtyard of his agency, consists of nothing more than a bed, dresser, carpet and a lamp.
Schmidt said finding a house is very difficult in Munich, with rent prices being too high for what you get. He said he saves 1,000 euros (1,115 USD) a month through his new way of living.
Munich is the most expensive city in Germany, with rent prices being around 15.20 euros (17 USD) per square metre.
