USA: Vintage WWII aircraft on show in DC for V-Day celebrations
Several vintage aircraft went on show at the Smithsonian Air and Space Udvar-Hazy Centre in Chantilly, Saturday, following the Victory fly-over in Washington DC earlier in the day.
A selection of aircraft featuring the P52 Mustang, FM-2 Wildcat, A26 invader, AT-6 Texan and C-47 Skytrain flew from the Culpeper airport and parked outside the Museu's hangar. Guests of the Udvar-Hazy center also had a chance to see the WWII mission camps and equipment re-enactment as a part of a V-Day commemoration service.
The Fly-in Day at the Udvar-Hazy center was a part of the commemorative celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II in Washington DC.
