Ukraine: Anti-govt protesters rally for "peace and justice" in Kiev
Thousands marched through the streets of Kiev, Thursday protesting for "peace and justice" in the country and demanding a decrease in utility prices as well as the resignation of Kiev's mayor Vitali Klitschko.
The protesters, a collection of students, pensioners and miners, among others, passed by governmental buildings including the City Council, and the Cabinet of Ministers on Hrushevskogo Street, before moving to the Verkhovna Rada and concluding their march at the Presidential Administration while holding flags of Ukraine and banners reading "Peace and justice." A number of social movements participated in the rally, including 'White Drive,' which is fighting a law that restricts public gatherings and protests. While moving, the protesters almost blocked Kreschatik Street, leaving only one lane open for traffic.
Alongside regular demonstrators, the miners have entered the second day of protest starting near the Presidential Administration.
