
Jordan: Russian Special Forces finish final Annual Warrior Competition challenge
Russia's 'anti-terror' squad completed a grueling endurance exercise in the 7th Annual Warrior Competition at the King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Centre (KASOTC) close to Amman, Thursday. The challenge included a 10 km (6.2 miles) cross-country run and four shooting ranges, where the participants were tested on their ability to use pistols, shotguns, sniper and assault rifles.
The Russian team is formed of two Special Forces from the Chechen Republic. They are competing against teams from the US, Canada, Greece, Iraq, Lebanon, China, Afghanistan, Czech Republic, Kazakhstan, Colombia, Palestine, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Brunei and Turkey. All teams are competing in ten team events, testing their endurance, team-work, shooting and tactical skills. The Annual Warrior Competition has run from April 19 and will finish on April 23, when the winners in each event in addition to the winners of the competition will be announced.
The 'Snow Leopard Unit' from China won both the 2013 and 2014 Warrior Competition. Winners for 2015 will be announced later on April 23.
