Germany: 'Sanctions will not be a subject for all eternity' - East Forum speaker Hahn
Sanctions against Russia will not be a subject for all of eternity, the European Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement, Johannes Hahn, said in Berlin, Wednesday. "No one wants them but they are occasionally necessary," he added.
Hahn made the comments at the third edition of the East Forum Berlin, which focuses this year on the Ukrainian conflict and on "looking for answers" to what organisers describe as "the confrontation between the EU and Russia."
More than 300 politicians, officials and economists from over 25 countries are participating in the forum.
