      Singapore: Pimp my Uber! Users hail LAMBORGHINI and MASERATI cabs

      Lamborghinis and Maseratis belonging to ridesharing provider Uber were showed off in Singapore's city centre, Tuesday.

      In partnership with luxury car rental company Dream Drive, Uber launched a new offering on April 21, allowing its users to request a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder or a Maserati Gran Turismo Coupe. After a two day trial period in which users could hail 15 minute rides on the luxurious supercars for free, the ridesharing service provider saw demand skyrocket.

      The base fare to travel in the Lamborghini is 200 SGD ($148/€139) while a ride on the Maserati clocks in at 165 SGD ($122/€114). Both cover the first 15 minutes of a passenger's journey. A 7 SGD ($5.18, €4.85) per minute is applied for each additional minute of the passenger's journey.

      The cars are available on a trial basis until May 20.
