Djibouti: 'We have no future' - Yemeni refugees arrive at temporary UN camps
Yemeni refugees forced to flee the bombing of their country by Saudi-led forces arrived at a temporary UNHCR (United Nations High Commission for Refugees) refugee camp in Obock, Djibouti on Thursday.
The Obock refugee camp is a temporary transit point for refugees fleeing the conflict in Yemen. The nearly 350 newly arrived refugees are soon to be transfered to newly erected refugee camps in northern Djibouti.
UNHCR and its partners are providing basic assistance, with humanitarian agencies expecting tens of thousands more to flee the country in the coming months.
At least 643 people have died in the conflict so far, many of whom are thought to be children, according to World Health Organisation (WHO) figures from Friday, but the death toll is feared to be much higher. Over 2,000 people have been injured during the conflict and it is estimated that tens of thousands have been displaced since the Saudi-led airstrikes began on 26 March.
