Germany: FM Steinmeier lauds "compelling" G7 meeting
The G7 Foreign Minister's meeting in Luebeck has offered a "really compelling signal of coherence," German FM Frank-Walter Steinmeier said at a press conference on Wednesday.
Steinmeier admitted the G7 hasn't been "able to produce a solution" to the Syrian conflict, but despite disappointments and setbacks there are "no alternatives than continuing to search for possibilities" and solutions.
Steinmeier invited his six G7 counterparts to hold the summit in Luebeck, along with EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini. The group have held talks on Ukraine, Iran's nuclear negotiations and the ongoing crisis in Yemen among other issues.
