
Germany: Modi says India Germany should be permanent members of UN Security Council
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his belief that both India and Germany should be permanent members of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) during a speech in Berlin, Tuesday.
Speaking at a joint presser alongside German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Modi said India and Germany are "two countries that have earned the right to be permanent members." He added this would be "beneficial to the world".
Germany is the Indian PM's second leg of a three-nation tour that began in France and will see him head to Canada next.
