      USA: Manhunt underway after escaped prisoner fires shots at Virginia hospital

      An armed prisoner is on the run after he successfully escaped from custody while at Inova Fairfax Hospital located in Falls Church, Virginia. The hospital is one of the largest in Virginia state. Police have instigated a heavy presence in the area after gunshots were fired in the hospital.

      The prisoner, Wossen Assaye, had been in the custody of a private security guard. He escaped armed with the security officer's gun and is wearing a hospital gown and no shoes. Assaye is “armed and dangerous” according to police.
